For one of our clients, a global leader in B2B sports intelligence, we are looking for a JAVA ENIGNEER  who can offer something beyond the core skills, who thinks differently and shares the passion to solve problems in the sporting industry, and the desire to constantly move the needle.

  • You will have the opportunity to work on projects with some of the finest sports organisations/federations and elite athletes worldwide - developing applications that are changing the conversation in Football and Golf, and not only;
  • Working in a Scrum environment, where new technologies are embraced on both the front end and back end;
  • Exposure to a wide range of projects - building new applications from the ground up in addition to improving existing applications built on the latest and best technology platforms available. 


  • The successful candidate will work closely with a team of developers in Romania and London as well as project managers and data scientists primarily based in London;
  • Building and maintaining software solutions that integrate into the company's ecosystem of services;
  • Working with multiple data source providers and manage the data they provide to the databases;
  • Taking part in the planning of Agile sprints and adhere to goals set for each sprint;
  • Taking part in discussions advocating technical opinions and solutions with technical and non-technical staff;
  • Being a driving force for innovation by researching and developing solutions for the company's services.


  • Participate in the logical and physical design of the product and understand the business requirements. 
  • Ability to analyze existing code base and design pragmatic amendments;
  • Ability to solve complex technical challenges in a collaborative environment;
  • Ability to think independently and creatively about how to tackle problems;
  • Ability and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure, and react to the fast-moving environment of sports;
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field as well as a minimum of 3 years of experience in software development;
  • Technical:

 - Great Java 8 knowledge and a minimum of 2 years of work experience with it;

 - Spring Boot or other MVC framework experience;

 - Experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB or other NoSQL technology;

 - Experience with Microservices;

 - Good OOP knowledge;

 - REST API communication;

 - Angular/AngularJS or another frontend framework experience will be appreciated;

 - Node.js is a plus.
