We are looking for a SENIOR AI ENGINEER to join a US-based, VC-backed healthtech startup redefining healthcare through artificial intelligence. 

As an AI-first company, they provide a unified AI orchestration platform that empowers healthcare organizations to deploy, manage, and scale intelligent agents safely and efficiently. Their solutions transform disconnected AI pilots into enterprise-scale automation programs that deliver measurable impact in clinical and operational outcomes.

You’ll design, develop, test, and deploy advanced AI components, ensuring high performance while capturing essential metrics and KPIs for continuous improvement. 

Fully remote (Romania) or flexible remote (they have an office in Cluj-Napoca).

Technical stacks you will have the chance to work with

• Languages: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript;

• AI Technologies: LangGraph, agentic systems, RAG frameworks;

• Front-End: Svelte;

• Back-End & Infrastructure: Gateway routing abstractions, AWS (Lambda, SQS, SNS, RDS, S3), Serverless architectures, Containers;

• Databases: Relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL);

• DevOps: CI/CD tools and performance monitoring solutions.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with their experienced team to develop, test, and optimize their core AI platform;

• Build features end-to-end - from AI model development to production deployment;

• Write robust unit tests and maintain high code quality standards;

• Optimize existing systems based on performance metrics and user feedback;

• Engage in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with designers, developers, and business stakeholders.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Apply the full software development life cycle (SDLC) for AI components;

• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices and design patterns;

• Develop detailed documentation (flowcharts, diagrams, etc.) for system functionality;

• Integrate AI solutions seamlessly using Python and JavaScript;

• Implement and optimize agentic systems and RAG techniques;

• Design and maintain gateway routing abstractions for efficient service integration;

• Capture, monitor, and analyze metrics and KPIs to drive performance improvements;

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including data scientists, designers, and developers;

• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize live systems to ensure stability.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;

• Minimum 1 year of experience in AI/ML development;

• Strong experience with Python and JavaScript;

• Experience with agentic systems, RAG techniques, and LangGraph;

• Experience with gateway routing abstractions, Svelte, AWS, and relational databases;

• Strong understanding of SDLC, OOP concepts, and clean coding practices;

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
