SENIOR BIG DATA ENGINEER

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic and driven Senior Big Data Engineer (SME) to join the team of one of our clients - a medium-sized company with approximately 100 employees and a leader in information management.
They are at the forefront of technology innovation, offering solutions that transform business operations and enhance digital experiences. With a special focus on cloud computing and data management, they empower organizations to navigate the complexities of the digital age.
TECH STACK:
- Core product : .NET/C#;
- Analytics : Azure Cloud, OpenSearch/Elasticsearch, Apache Spark, Parquet, Superset, Hive, Python.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify business requirements and objectives;
- Extract, clean, and preprocess large volumes of structured and unstructured data from various sources;
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover patterns, trends, and correlations;
- Create/Modify visualizations and dashboards to present insights and findings to stakeholders;
- Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot data pipelines and workflows using various tools and frameworks;
- Monitor and evaluate data quality, integrity, and consistency to ensure accuracy and reliability;
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in big data analytics;
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TABLE
- 10+ years of experience in a similar role;
- High proficiency in working with RDBMS;
- Proven experience in data analytics or data engineering;
- Proven experience in working with reporting tools;
- Experienced in data migration and data conversion projects, especially involving large-scale and complex data sets;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Excellet communication and collaboration skills;
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics or a related field.
GREAT TO HAVE
- Knowledge of PowerBI, SuperSet;
- Experience in DevOps;
- Proven experience in Big Data infrastructure technologies, such as Hive, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and Flume;
- Familiar with parquet based conversions and optimization techniques for improving performance and reducing storage costs;
- Knowledgeable in data governance, data security and data privacy best practices;
- Certified or trained in relevant big data technologies and platforms;
- Experience with OpenSearch / Elasticsearch.
